San Lorenzo
Marche Bianco, 2004

Grower: San Lorenzo
Region: Marche, Italy
Grape Varieties: Verdicchio
Viticulture: Biodynamic
Size: 75cl bottle

Of of Italy's greatest white wines. This comes from a plot of low-yielding old vines. Clusters are sorted individually, with only the best selected. The wine is then aged on its lees for 110 months (i.e over 9 years) before release. Opens with some funky, leesy notes but with time in carafe turns into a nutty, oily, saline wine of crazy density and length.
