Julien Pineau
Roche Blanche 2020

The Roche Blanche comes from the fabled site previously owned by Catherine and Didier Barouillet. Julien took over the vineyard in 2015 sharing ownership with his good friend Laurent Saillard. This 2020 vintage is the last time Julien will be able to vinify in the cellar of Catherine and Didier as they are reclaiming the space for themselves. Sadly Julien and Laurent had a devastating 2021 vintage with little to no fruit produced with most killed off by frost, mildew and hail in August! Making the 2020 a worthy vintage to hold on to. The aromatics are round and opulent giving way to ripe yellow fruit and a clean mineral edge. Delicious now but will reward in years to come.

A relationship moved him down to Provence for a few seasons before he finally...
