What's struck me most about the wines of Thierry is that he is deeply selective of the parcels he tends and seeks out the oldest he can find. These were acquired after several years of searching. Such dedication and patience is rewarded in the sense of concentration and complexity he derives.
Time spent with Jean-Pierre Robinot as well as Eric Nicolas certainly feels marked in the wines but these are most certainly the wines of someone with a light touch and deep understanding of elevage, wines with a true sense of place that speak of another time.
We’re lucky to have a few of his incredible rosé petillant which is from the hybrid variety plantet and chenin blanc direct pressed. A wine of purity and complexity. Deep red berried fruit, mineral, a gentle background of confection all rounded out into perfect balance.
