Martine Budé farms 3 parcels in and around Chinon. Each plot represents a differing make up of soil, the thread that ties them all together is simply ‘finesse'. By utilising the same vinification method for each site she is able to offer a fascinating and delicious view on the world of cabernet franc. We’re beyond excited to have these grace the shelves.
The Palimpseste has the most ridiculous delicacy to it. To the point it forced me to hold my glass differently, little finger extended as though I were in an episode of Downton Abbey sipping tea with Lady Mary Crawley. That aside it delivers such an exquisite and dainty texture that broadens out into a very focussed cabernet franc. Distinct, clear and very clever wine.
