A fine example of an idea, turned passion, turned delicious product. The Dour Cider team are a group of talented, creative and curious young folks. When they saw the opportunity to make cider from given and forgotten apples around Scotland, they took to it with ease.
This is a blend of James Grieve, Egremont Russet, Rajka, Discovery, Bramley and St Mary's. Aged for seven months in oak casks through winter with the completion of fermentation in bottle during the summer.
The first few sips suggest that it's a simple dry cider but actually behind that disguise is a delicately complex and deeply refreshing drink that speaks to the intelligence of its creators. Hardworking, kind folk that have never, in the entire time i've known them, across the many mediums they work in, produced anything but quality.
