Grower: Benoit Camus
Region: Beaujolais, France
Grape Varieties: Gamay
Viticulture: Uncertified Organic
Size: 75cl bottle
How to capture the essence of Benoit Camus; a man of few words, racing around the South of Beaujolais on a beat up motorbike, growing organic grapes with biodynamic practices, living amongst the vines in his very own "rolling castle" (read: trailer). Prior to bottling under his own labels, he was selling his grapes to friends like Philippe Jambon. His wines exude energy and a free-spirited character reminiscent of the man himself. From 60 year old vines on limestone soils, Vagabond shows off its mineral edge with a racy acidity that cuts through the black and brambly fruit character. A wine of rare approachability and quality at it's price point.
