Jerome Lambert produces wines out of a tiny, ramshackle cellar in Anjou, not far from Rablay-sur-Layon and south of Angers. He’s committed to producing wines with nothing but grapes, and in doing so creates true terroir wines that are singular to Jerome, his little corner of Anjou, and the vintage. The indigenous schist soils of Anjou bring immense energy, focus, and bracing freshness to Jerome’s wines, with chenins that teem with minerality and juicy cabernet francs and grolleaus that have lift, vibrancy, and sheer drinkability about them.
